About us
The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Park, referred to as the “Animal and Botanical Park”, commonly known as the “Bing Head Garden”, is the earliest park established in Hong Kong. It is located on Abentley Road, Central, on Hong Kong Island, and is surrounded by Robinson Road, Gillenary Road, Upper Albert Road and Gardens. Surrounded by roads and other roads, construction began in 1860, partially opened in 1864, and fully completed in 1871. In the early days, the park was dominated by plants, so it was called the Botanical Park. Afterwards, the number of animals kept in the park increased day by day, and it was renamed Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Park in 1975. Covering an area of 5.6 hectares, the main entrance of the park is located on Yabinli Road. The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Park is adjacent to the Hong Kong Park and is also one of the tourist attractions in Hong Kong.

Business philosophy
Animals in the parkThe Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Park has started raising wild animals for exhibitions since 1876. It uses very primitive buildings to raise a few birds and mammals, purely for visitors to watch. After the large-scale expansion in the mid-1970s, the park put more emphasis on breeding and breeding technology, and promoted various activities in the park including: through education, conservation, research projects and exhibitions, to promote the public’s understanding and attention to various organisms; and to lead the public Appreciate the ways in which species coexist with nature.Currently, about half of the park is allocated for animal breeding. There are about 40 cages and a total of about 400 birds, 50 mammals and 20 reptiles.
